About 1 hour from "Yorii" on "Chichibu Tetsudo
Line"takes you to "Mitsumine-guchi" station.
The water spot is about 20 from the station which is typically
loaded with hiking tourists in weekends.
One of several tributaries flowing to "Oochigawa River"
which then flows to "Arakawa River" is the home
of this remarkable water called "Chichibu Genryu-sui",
or water of Chichibu upstream. One can find the water source
located nearby the narrow motor way passing through Chichibu
mountains. The water quietly yet solidly spouts out into a
tributary after years of filtration through limestone rock
layers of Chichibu mountains under abundant broad-leaved trees.
The water is bottled at the source by a local company and
becomes a mineral water branded as "Chichibu Genryu-sui".
This bottled water is currently sold through certain channels
throughout Japan.
The water is among a number of fine waters which along Chichibu
Tetsudo Line, including "Yamato-mizu", one of 100
Remarkable Waters in Japan.
